Kiwanis celebrating 100 years with Indy service projects
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Several near west side neighborhoods look a little different thanks to more than 400 Kiwanis Club members.
Some of the members are called Circle K’ers – the collegiate arm of Kiwanis. They’ll spend hours this week doing an “Extreme Neighborhood Makeover.” Students will paint murals, do landscaping and clean-up neighborhoods.
They will also beautify a garden for animals at the local Humane Society and perform nearly 5,000 hours of service in two days around Indianapolis.
The project is to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kiwanis International.
More than 7,000 club members from 27 nations are visiting Indianapolis to celebrate this milestone.
