Man puts up fight, officers injured during arrest
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — Two officers with the Columbus Police Department received minor injuries when they were attempting to arrest a man accused of threatening to kill family members.
On Friday, police responded to the 3800 block of Candlelight Drive around 7 p.m., according to 24-Hour News 8’s partners at The Republic. Sgt. Matt Harris Columbus Police spokesman said the call came in as a man making threats.
When police arrived on scene they found Joshua R. Chiodo, 24, hiding in bushes near the residence. Harris said when police attempted to arrest Chiodo he resisted officers and put up a fight.
Chiodo was arrested and transported to the Bartholomew County jail. He was later released.
