Beech Grove SWAT standoff ends

BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) – An hours-long SWAT standoff in Beech Grove ended early Tuesday morning when police entered the house and took a man into custody.

Members of the SWAT team were called to the neighborhood Monday night.

A spokesperson with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said around 9:30 p.m. that the Beech Grove Police Department called for assistance from IMPD’s SWAT team.

Officers were first called to the 2000 block of Britton Drive on the report of a suicidal subject. Police say when they got to the scene, officers heard a gunshot.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, the situation was resolved.
