Local hot spots offer Presidents Day activities

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Many workers and students have the day off in honor of Presidents Day. Some Indianapolis attractions are also celebrating with admission deals and special events.

The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site will take you back to the late 1800s after the 23rd president’s term. Actors from the home will be speaking about their portrayal of the family from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. There will also be interactive tours every half hour. Admission is $5 for students and $10 for adults.

Other local spots celebrating Presidents Day include Conner Prairie. Historical re-enactors will be portraying several presidents. Admission is free on Presidents Day from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is also offering special activities and reduced admission Monday. It’s just $1 for children and $5 for adults. Even honest Abe will be making an appearance.

If you’re looking for something different, the NCAA Hall of Champions is free Monday. Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., but there will be a special Fun Day featuring former college athletes from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. This is one of only two free days at the NCAA Hall of Champions each year.
