Southwest adding non-stop trips to Dallas
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Hoosiers looking to take a stop-free trip to Dallas will soon have another option available, officials with the Indianapolis International Airport announced Thursday.
Southwest Airlines will offer non-stop service to Dallas-Fort Worth, one of the country’s busiest airport, beginning in April. Currently, only American Airlines offers a direct flight between the cities.
The Indianapolis Airport Authority said the expanded service will allow the airport, and Southwest, to better accommodate travelers heading to what the authority called “IND’s eighth-largest destination market.”
Flight times for the expanded service have not been made public.
Southwest will also expand its service to Boston and Los Angeles airports in June, the authority said.
The announcement of added service comes less than a month after Frontier Airlines announced it will add non-stop service to Atlanta.
