Pedestrian injured in hit and run accident

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A female pedestrian was injured in a hit and run accident early Sunday morning.

Police say the 35-year-old Daniela Lopez was attempting to cross the street in the 3900 block of North High School Road just before 4 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle.

After the striking the woman, the vehicle did slow down momentarily, but did keep going and eventually left the scene.

Police go on to say that there was one witness who was unable to provide officers with any details about the vehicle involved in the incident.

However, police are now looking for the vehicle believed to be responsible, a 2006-2010 Dodge Charge with damage to the front driver’s side.

Lopez was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.
