Police: Speeding driver arrested on drug charges

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A Daleville man was arrested Sunday evening after police say they found drugs in his vehicle following a chase.

It started as a traffic stop around 8 p.m. Police say two troopers were on Interstate 69 near the 226 mile marker when they saw a silver 2002 Pontiac going 90 mph in a 70 mph zone.

The troopers began pursuing the vehicle and got it to stop around the 227 mile marker. They spoke with the driver, 24-year-old Zachary Tumulty, and arrested him on preliminary charges of possession of heroin, under 1 gram, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Tumulty, who was also cited for speeding, was booked into the Madison County Jail.
