Broken taillight leads to drug bust
BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A broken taillight led to a drug bust on Thursday morning on I-65.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop at around 3 a.m. Thursday for broken taillights.
According to the release, when the officer pulled over the suspect, she noticed a strong smell of marijuana. When she asked the suspect, Jami Travers of Kentucky, to exit the vehicle, she found around 40 grams of marijuana.
Drug paraphernalia and an unlicensed firearm were also found in the car.
Travers was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and carrying a firearm without a license.
She was released on a $11,000 bond from the Bartholomew County Jail on Thursday.
