Colts linebacker arrested on drug charge

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — An Indianapolis Colts linebacker was arrested early Wednesday after police say they found marijuana in his residence.

Officers were called to Jonathan Newsome’s residence in Zionsville around 2 a.m. after someone complained of loud music.

He was arrested around 4 a.m. when police discovered marijuana in his residence.

He was taken to the Boone County Jail without incident.

Newsome played football for Ohio State and Ball State before being signed to the Colts in 2014.

The Colts issued the following statement:

We’re aware of reports that Jonathon Newsome was arrested in Zionsville this morning but until we have had an opportunity to review the facts relevant to the case, it would be inappropriate for us to make a comment.”
