2 people sentenced in murder of IU med school doctor
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two people have been sentenced in the killing of Indiana University med school Dr. Kevin Rodgers after accepting plea deals.
Tarius Blade, 17, was sentenced to 21 years in prison on burglary charges. Nehemiah Merriweather, 19, was sentenced to ten years on similar charges.
Investigators said Rodger’s wife found his body inside their Indianapolis home in November 2017.
Rodgers served more than 25 years at the IU School of Medicine.
Devon Seats, 19, admitted to killing Rodgers and burglarizing three homes. He faces up to 50 years in prison and is set to be sentenced next Thursday.
Brickham Hurst, 20, will be in court for a change of plea hearing on Monday.
