Dog rescued from southern Indiana cave

SALEM, Ind. (WISH) — An owner and dog were reunited after a cave rescue during the weekend, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources said in a Facebook post.

BuzzMan, a champion coon hound, went missing during a hunt on private property in Washington County. His GPS collar stopped tracking at a cave entrance. Authorities were notified about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and a search began, said Jim Schreck, and Indiana conservation officer.

About 3 p.m. Sunday, rescuers from the National Cave Rescue Commission and Indiana conservation officers discovered the trapped dog and helped it out of the cave.

BuzzMan was cold and hungry but otherwise OK.
