UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was found dead in the 6700 block of Barnwood Trace Saturday, February 29.

The coroner says Maurice Swann, 29, was found dead from gunshot wounds. No other details have been released.

INDIANPOLIS (WISH) — Police are on the scene of a death investigation on the city’s northwest side.

According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to an apartment complex at 6731 Barnwood Trace around 5:40 a.m. Saturday on reports of a shots fired. That’s the address for Covered Bridge Apartments near Georgetown Road and West 71st Street.

When officers arrived to the scene they found a man dead. Police say the man appeared to suffer from gunshot wounds. It is unclear at this time how he died.

No suspect information was immediately available.
