Best of Dick Wolfsie: Rock Steady Boxing

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each and every week Dick Wolfsie shares an interesting and exciting story that has a special connection to central Indiana.

This week, we take a look back at 2017 when Wolfsie took a visit to Rock Steady Boxing on 75th Street and Shadeland Avenue.

At this gym, the opponent is Parkinson’s Disease.

“Rock Steady Boxing is a program that helps to reduce, delay and reverse the symptoms of Parkinson’s,” said Joyce Johnson, executive director of Rock Steady Boxing. “Over the years, we’ve been training people throughout the world to do what we do.”

Now there are more than 300 Rock Steady Boxing locations in 45 states and 19 international locations in six different countries.

“It’s a great workout , they really push you,” said David Giles, member of Rock Steady Boxing. “I’ve lost 10-15 pounds since I’ve started.”

Rock Steady Boxing is still open and is currently offering virtual sessions.
