Greencastle restaurateurs fear loss of business amid virus restrictions

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (WISH) — A Greencastle couple is afraid the coronavirus pandemic will mean the loss of their business.

Moore’s Bar and Grill in Greencastle has been around the area for 75 years. It has changed its style to stay open but has lost more than 50% of its revenue since dining restrictions across the state went into effect.

The owners say they have filed for state help but the process is long and slow.

They are now reaching out and pleading for people to support local business.

“Not every small business can sustain and make it. I feel like we are just kind of forgotten about. It’s not just about us, its about the bar down the street, the restaurant across the street, it’s the hair salon and the barber,” said Julie Meyer, co-owner of Moore’s Bar and Grill.

The restaurant has been partnering with area businesses to provide meals for essential workers.
