Noblesville company lands another FDA clearance
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) — A Noblesville-based medical device manufacturer has received a key designation for the latest addition to its portfolio. Nexxt Spine LLC says it is now rolling out its Nexxt Matrixx Corpectomy System after receiving clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The company says the system has been cleared by the FDA for use in patients to replace a diseased, collapsed, damaged or unstable vertebral body due to a tumor, ostomyelitis, trauma or for reconstruction following a corpectomy.
“The extension of our Nexxt Matrixx line with the Corpectomy System has been highly anticipated by our surgeon network, who consistently experience superior clinical outcomes,” said Andy Elsbury, president of Nexxt Spine. “We are excited to expand this network and positively enhance the lives of more patients.”
Nexxt Spine says the first surgical implantation of the system was completed earlier this month after receiving the FDA clearance.
The announcement comes less than a year after the company received FDA clearance for its Nexxt Matrixx Stand Alone Cervical System, which was spotlighted in the Life Sciences INdiana newsletter in September.
