Plainfield home sustains fire damage after lightning strike

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — A home in Plainfield suffered fire damage after lightning struck Sunday morning.

According to Plainfield Fire Territory, a home in the 5600 block of Beale Street was struck by lightning and a fire broke out just before 5 a.m.

Fire crews say the family was able to safely evacuate the home and no one was injured.

Plainfield Fire Territory Assistant Chief Brent Anderson said the house sustained significant damage to the attic and roof.
