Delta Dental commits millions for relief efforts
LANSING, Mich. (Inside INdiana Business) — Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana is providing licensed dentists credits for dental products and services in order to help maintain care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Delta Dental in the three states and the Delta Dental Foundation have committed $88 million to help communities.
“These funds will help ensure the viability of our local businesses and nonprofits that keep our neighborhoods alive,” said Goran Jurkovic, CEO of Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. “Employee benefits are valuable now more than ever and we remain laser focused on health and bringing our communities together so we can emerge from this stronger.”
The $1,000 credit for licensed dentists in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio could cover dental products, including PPE and is redeemable through a national dental supply distributor. Customers are also being offered a one-month credit of premium or administrative fees and some customers will have their rates frozen for one year. Nonprofit partners were also invited by the organizations to apply for emergency relief grants from the Delta Dental Foundation.
The financial support also allowed for the purchase of 2,500 reusable cloth masks, along with 50,000 toothbrushes and educational materials that were distributed to communities.
