3Rivers FCU acquires Richmond bank
FORT WAYNE and RICHMOND, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Fort Wayne-based Three Rivers Federal Credit Union has completed the acquisition of certain assets and liabilities of Richmond-based West End Bank S.B. 3Rivers says West End Bank customers are now members of 3Rivers Federal Credit Union and can continue to conduct business at the same locations in Richmond, Liberty, and Hagerstown.
3Rivers says account and brand conversion went into effect June 1.
The credit union says West End Bank employees will continue working with the same customers at their respective branches.
Prior to the completion of the sale, 3Rivers says West End Bank operated four branches, served about 24,000 customers, and had approximately $291 million in assets. The completion of the acquisition increases the credit union’s total number of employees to 440 and assets to approximately $1.6 billion.
“We’re grateful and proud of the ongoing efforts and collaboration of both of our teams during this process, especially with the unanticipated challenges that COVID presented in the midst of the transaction. We now have the ability to expand access to our financial tools, resources, and branches throughout Indiana, all with a continued and deepened commitment of investing in the community and keeping it local,” said Don Cates, chief executive officer of 3Rivers Federal Credit Union.
3Rivers now operates 20 credit union branches with the completion of the acquisition.
