CertaSite buys Ohio fire extinguisher company

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Indianapolis-based CertaSite has acquired ABC Fire Extinguisher Co. in Ohio. The Ohio-based company provides a variety of fire protection equipment and service to customers in northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

CertaSite says the company’s employees retained their jobs in the acquisition, which was finalized earlier this year. ABC will continue to operate under its brand name in the local markets.

“CertaSite and Riverside are the perfect partners to build on the foundation laid by our employees and customers,” said ABC owner Frank Lordi. “Transitioning our business to CertaSite blends our unique industry knowledge with a technology-based platform that offers new product lines, is professional and rooted in best practices, and provides significant value for customers.”

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. The deal is CertaSite’s eighth acquisition of a fire protection and life safety company, following the most recent deal for South Bend-based Approved Safety and Security Inc. earlier this month.

CertaSite says the acquisition is its second Ohio-based commercial fire protection and life safety company. Rich Kendle, who manages the company’s Kent, Ohio office, will oversee the Youngstown operations.
