GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — An Indianapolis man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 74 near Greensburg on Saturday, according to Indiana State Police.

ISP public information officer Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said a crash in the westbound lanes of I-74 near mile marker 135 happened just before 11:30 a.m. Saturday. A semi hauling a tanker came to a stop in the right lane of I-74 because traffic had been slowed due to two separate crashes in the area.

Kevin Porter II, 37, of Indianapolis, failed to slow the box truck he was driving and crashed into the back of the tanker.

Porter was taken to Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg and was pronounced dead.

The driver of the tanker sustained minor injuries.

The westbound lanes of I-74 were closed for about three hours while authorities investigated and cleaned up the scene.

Toxicology results are pending at this time.
