‘Gr8 Comeback’: Binkley’s Kitchen and Bar welcomes customers back with new look, bragging rights

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Binkley’s Kitchen and Bar in Broad Ripple has new ownership, a new look and some new bragging rights.

The restaurant won the 2020 Indy Burger Battle Champion People’s Choice trophy with a new item on the menu. They call the burger “La Jefa.”

Inside of a brioche bun you get chorizo, Mexican street corn, habanero brown sugar bacon, pepper jack and chorizo corn relish on top of a ground beef patty.

“It’s awesome,” manager Arianne Andries said. Like the “La Jefa” burger, all the other food items on the menu are made from scratch, according to the restaurant’s website.

Returning customers who last visited before the COVID-19 pandemic may notice some changes on the inside and outside.

Brad Bartley talked with Randall Newsome about giving the place a modern makeover.

“During the shutdown, we had a lot of free time to kind of revamp the place, repaint and give it a more modern neighborhood feel,” he said.
