INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – WGU Indiana is partnering with Ivy Tech Community College to implement WGU’s “Onward with Learning” Transfer Program. WGU says the program is designed to remove transfer barriers and includes guaranteed admission in select WGU programs for Ivy Tech graduates.

The nonprofit university says the program is also suited for students seeking bachelor’s degrees after completing associate degrees. The program will provide guaranteed credit transfer and admission to one of WGU Indiana’s 13 bachelor’s degree programs in business, IT, education and health.

“WGU is committed to helping the 91,179 Ivy Tech Community College students further their educational achievements by removing barriers to transfer,” said Spencer Stewart, WGU’s vice president of partnerships. “Ivy Tech’s high-quality programs will prepare them for a four-year degree program at WGU, and by engaging students early and often, we can make sure they streamline their academic journey – saving them time and tuition costs.”

The program is available to newly enrolled students and those who have completed less than 50% of their associate degree.

“I have always believed that WGU is a great transfer partner, but the additional support offered to Ivy Tech Community College students by the OWL Program really enhances our partnership,” said Patty Plantenga, transfer advisor at Ivy Tech. “Knowing there is a pathway for Ivy Tech students to pursue guaranteed admission is an exciting benefit of the program, and the scholarship opportunities available to OWL Program participants are highly valuable in reducing barriers to bachelors degrees.”

WGU says it is reaching 21 community colleges nationwide with the OWL transfer program.
