‘Gr8 Comeback’: Commissary Barber & Barista

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Commissary Barber & Barista is a downtown spot where you can get your day started with a coffee and a haircut in the same place.

Owner Brandon Burdine says after being shut down for 10 weeks, he’s hoping more customers will support at least one of their services, if not both.

Burdine says his Commissary Barber & Barista is about bringing the community together.

“[It’s] a place where you one-stop shop,” he said. “Get a cup of coffee, grab a beer, cocktails and so we wanted to make sure you could come in, hang out and also get your hair cut and enjoy that experience as well.”

Burdine told the Gr8 Comeback‘s Randall Newsome that even though the COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on his and other downtown businesses, he’s seen people coming together to support local.

“We’re just happy to see people back downtown and enjoying the experience again,” he said. “It’s nice to have support. We try to make sure we’re putting the love back out there and supporting others in the community as well and spending our money in the downtown area specifically and supporting our local businesses here.”
