1 person killed in shooting on northeast side

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Cody Campbell.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is dead after a shooting on the city’s northeast side.

Police responded to the 7200 East 82nd Street around 4 a.m. for a person shot report, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Once on the scene, officers located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said a man was shot at the Super 8 motel in the area. After knocking on the motel lobby, the man was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers learned where the man was staying in the motel and located a crime scene.

Three people have been taken in for questioning.
