Luna Music celebrates reopening to in-person shopping for first time since pandemic
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– A “music shop for music lovers” is celebrating the reopening of its doors to customers for the first time in more than a year and a half.
After lasting in Indianapolis for more than two decades, Luna Music owner Todd Robinson made the tough decision to close the inside of the store when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Now the sound of a busy shop is music to his ears.
“It just feels so bright,” Robinson said. “You know I went so long without hearing the front door bell ring, that every time I hear it now I just get a little smile that somebody wants to come in and see what’s happening.”
While Luna Music was closed indoors, Robinson says their fans kept them going by supporting online.
“I couldn’t wait to throw these doors open as kind of a thank you to everybody that hung with us during that time,” he said.
Robinson believes it’s more than the music that’s bringing people back.
“We just try to create a beautiful atmosphere that’s conducive to come in and take a look,” he said. “Maybe buy something, maybe hangout, maybe learn something you didn’t know before [or] maybe we learn something we didn’t know before.”
For those coming back for the first time in a while, he says they’ve been stocking up with thousands of new music items.
“There’s all genres covered,” Robinson said. “I really feel like there’s something for everybody whether it’s a book, an LP, a CD or a cassette.”
Robinson says Luna Music would also love to buy your records. You can sell or buy to them online or in the store.
