Mecum Auctions kick off at the Indiana State Fairgrounds

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Dana Mecum Auctions are back in Indianapolis, displaying 2,000 classic collector cars, trucks, motorcycles and road art from all over the country.

One of the main attractions being showcased during the auctions is the Steven Juliano Estate Collection.

It features big money grabbers like the 1967 Original Factory Shelby 427 S/C Cobra.

Mecum CEO Dave Magers says he expects that car to auction for more than $3.2 million before the week is over.

“It is loud, it’s fast, it’s exciting in the auction arena but other than that it’s a beautiful car show,” Magers said.

Magers says his favorite part about the auction every year is the beginning.

“For me, it’s like the Indy 500, I love the start,” he said.

The Mecum Auction is happening May 14-19.
