Marion woman dies after being struck by vehicle
MARION, Ind. (WISH) — A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Marion.
The Marion Police Department confirmed that a 74-year-old woman died after being struck by a car Monday afternoon.
Police say it happened around 2:45 p.m. near 4th Street and Washington Street.
Police said the victim later passed away at Marion General Hospital.
The driver was 69-year-old Robert Snyder of Marion. Police say he was preparing to make a left turn when the victim entered the roadway approximately 25 to 30 feet away from the crosswalk.
MPD says no criminal charges are expected.
