Eating spicy food may help you live longer
(KXAN) – A new Harvard study said eating spicy foods may help you live longer.
The study found that people who ate spicy foods six or seven times a week had a 14 percent lower risk of death compared to those who only eat it less than once a week.
It is believed the benefits of hot foods comes from capsaicin. It is a bio-active ingredient that is found in chili-peppers, which has been linked to health perks.
The researchers said more studying has to be done to know definitively if spicy food provides a protective effect.
