Man killed in Henry County crash

SPICELAND, Ind. (WISH) — An Ohio man was killed in a crash on Interstate 70 in Henry County on Friday, Indiana State Police said.

Shortly before noon, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near mile marker 115.

Preliminary investigation suggests that Craig Simon, 58, of Powell, Ohio, was eastbound on the interstate in the left lane.

For an unknown reason, Simon did not notice the stopped traffic ahead of him and crashed into the back of a semi tractor-trailer.

Simon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors.

I-70 was shut down for two hours due to the crash.

ISP did not not say if the semi driver sustained any injuries.
