Fishers church to hold vigil for Charleston

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — A church in Fishers will hold a prayer vigil for the lives lost in Charleston.

Faith AME Church of Fishers will offer support for Mother Emmanuel AME Church in South Carolina on Wednesday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m.

The vigil will include congregational singing, litanies and prayers along with a candle lighting for the nine victims.

“So often in the face of such tragedies we are left feeling helpless and hopeless. This is an opportunity for us to do something meaningful in the face of such a meaningless act. We hope to provide our community with a safe space to remember the victims and stand in unity with the survivors” said Pastor Nichele Washington of Faith AME Church.

The church is located at 10029 East 129th Street in the Ji Eun Lee Music Academy building in Fishers.
