Construction workers unearth 43 dinosaur eggs in China

HONG KONG (CNN) – More dinosaur eggs have been found in China as crews work on fixing roads in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.

Construction workers unearthed 43 fossilized dinosaur eggs Sunday. A museum spokesman says 19 of the eggs are completely intact, with the largest measuring as much as five inches in diameter.

Researchers said they will continue to examine the fossils to determine which dinosaur species they belong to.

Nearly 17,000 dinosaur eggs have been uncovered in the same area since children playing in 1996 found the first group of fossils.

The city calls itself the “Home of Dinosaurs” and won a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest collection of dinosaur eggs at its museum in 2004, CNN reports.
