NCAA Final 4 to disrupt Indiana Legislature’s schedule

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indiana lawmakers will have a slightly extended break from the Statehouse while the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four is in Indianapolis.

Legislative leaders have decided to call off action for Monday, April 6, the day the national championship game is set for Lucas Oil Stadium.

State Senate President Pro Tem David Long says the decision was made because the normal hotel rooms used by many out-of-town lawmakers won’t be available since they are booked for Final Four fans.

Long says it’s uncertain whether committee meetings or floor action will need to be rescheduled for a Friday, when the Legislature typically doesn’t meet.

The General Assembly’s session is scheduled to end in late April.
