Colts’ D’Qwell Jackson arrested after parking spot scuffle

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson was arrested in Washington D.C. Tuesday night, the Metropolitan Police Department confirms.

Jackson, 31, was arrested on a preliminary charge of simple assault, police spokesman Araz Alali said. Jackson was released from jail pending a later court date.

The preliminary report from the D.C. Metropolitan Police states that the victim was struck on his face and head because the victim took Jackson’s parking spot.

This past season was Jackson’s first with the Colts after playing eight seasons for the Cleveland Browns. Jackson attended University of Maryland, which is in the D.C. area.

The Indianapolis Colts made the following statement regarding Jackson’s arrest, “The Indianapolis Colts have been made aware that D’Qwell Jackson was charged yesterday in Washington, D.C. with a count of simple assault. When the Club learns more of the surrounding facts, it will make an appropriate statement.”
