Police officer shot on east side, taken to hospital
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A police officer was shot on Sunday evening on the east side of Indianapolis, according to IMPD.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed a police officer had been shot around 7:15 p.m. on Galaxy Lane, which is near 25th Street and Post Road on the east side.
The officer was awake and breathing and taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, IMPD said.
No other information about the circumstances of the shooting or the suspects involved was immediately available.
Around 9:10 p.m., IMPD said the officer was in good condition.
