1 dead, 1 injured after double shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say one is dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting early Saturday morning.

According to a release, police responded to IU Health University Hospital on report of a person shot around 3:30 a.m. Saturday and located two men with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.

The men were transported to Eskenazi Hospital for treatment, where one man was pronounced dead by hospital staff. The other man was said to be in stable condition.

Investigators believe the incident occurred at a separate location but have not been able to locate the crime scene.

The men and a suspect have not been identified at this time. No further information has been provided.

News 8 reached out to the Marion County Coroner’s Office for the ID of the man who died but did not receive a response.
