Analyst Steve Smith weighs in on Blazers, Ducks

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KOIN) — The basketball elite tend to show up at the NCAA Tournament games, and that’s where KOIN 6 Sports caught up with Steve Smith.

The former Blazer said the Ducks and UC Irvine Anteaters are both good teams on really hot streaks. But if the Ducks are to win, they need to control the pace, go inside and get to the free throw line.

Smith also said the Blazers are “playing phenomenal” basketball right now, even without CJ McCollum. He said others, like Jusuf Nurkic and Rodney Hood, are playing at a high level, and he’d like to see a playoff matchup with Oklahoma City.
