PopCon Indy

A family-friendly event celebrating all things pop culture including celebrities, anime, art, board games, cosplay, e-sports, fan panels, gaming, special events, unique experiences and so much more is happening Aug. 25-27 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. In its tenth year, PopCon brings some of the largest names in popular culture to the Indiana Convention Center while providing creators a platform to connect with existing and new audiences. More than 30 special guests, including celebrities, YouTube sensations, podcasters and gamers will be on site.

Indy GreekFest

Celebrate the milestone 50th year of GreekFest, a cherished ethnic festival held at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Carmel. Join the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church community on Aug. 25 from 4-10 p.m. and Aug. 26 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for authentic Greek cuisine, wines, fresh pastries, live entertainment by George Karras and the Holy Trinity Hellenic Dance Troupe, cathedral tours, Greek wine and craft beer offerings, a lively outdoor food festival, kids zone, cooking demonstrations, and more. Admission is free, and the event caters to families, with children 12 and under accompanied by adults.

Momentum Indy

Experience the pinnacle of cycling excitement Aug. 25-26 at IU Health Momentum Indy, a two-day event nestled in the heart of Massachusetts Avenue. This exceptional gathering showcases top-tier professional male and female cyclists from across the nation, ensuring an unforgettable spectacle for fans. The festival, a cherished favorite among families and cyclists alike, boasts a dynamic lineup including pro-amateur criterium bike races, the Honor Major Taylor Ride, an outdoor adventure experience, kids bike races, as well as a passel of food and drink, all set to the backdrop of invigorating music and entertainment.

Diva Feva!

In commemoration of its 50th Anniversary, Dance Kaleidoscope presents a jubilant celebration at the 2023 IndyFringe Festival—a grand homage to the past half-century. Featuring beloved “divas” who have graced its stage over the years, the company exudes both “feva and diva vibes” through its dancers, with the captivating Kallie D. Scope as the master of ceremonies. Attendees are invited to immerse themselves in an evening of fringy allure, embracing the grooves of Disco, R&B, Pop, and Hip-hop. Performances are scheduled for Aug. 25 at 5:30 p.m., and Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. at The Athenaeum.

Indy’s Beer, Bourbon, and Bacon Fest

Indulge in the ultimate trio of delights at the debut of Indy’s Beer, Bacon & Bourbon Fest—an extravaganza that promises the finest in bourbon, local beer, and delectable bacon creations. On Aug. 26 from 11a.m. to 3 p.m., immerse yourself in this vibrant affair boasting an array of local brews, imaginative bacon-infused dishes crafted by top Indy restaurants, and a tantalizing selection of exquisite bourbons. It’s a celebration of taste and enjoyment that you won’t want to miss!

Feast of Lanterns

Partake in the captivating history of the Feast of Lanterns festival, a tradition dating back to the late 1800s. From its humble beginnings as front porch gatherings in places like Woodruff Place, this cherished event has evolved into a vibrant celebration. Join on Aug. 26 from 4-11 p.m. at Spades Park for a family-friendly occasion featuring over 70 artists, local vendors, a kids zone, food trucks, a beer garden, and dynamic live music from Public Universal Friend, Pork and Beans Brass Band, Grupo Bembé, Joshua Powell, DJ Gabby Love, and Kit Malone & the American Arsonists.

Emo Night

Relive the nostalgia at The Vogue on Aug. 26 with The Emo Night Tour’s triumphant return. Brace yourself for an evening of sonic throwbacks as the tour rolls in, bringing with it the anthems of Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, My Chemical Romance, and more. Experience the pulse of hip-hop culture at Chreece on Aug. 26, an indie festival igniting the vibrant artistry of the genre. Set in Fountain Square, Indianapolis, this event unites local and national talents across eight venues for dynamic showcases by over 80 hip-hop artists, DJs, and producers. After a three-year hiatus, Chreece returns with renewed vigor, teaming up with creative advocate GANGGANG to spotlight Indianapolis’ best and beyond. The lineup boasts exceptional national acts set to deliver electrifying performances, making this a not-to-be-missed celebration of hip-hop’s diverse brilliance.
