Police search for would-be robber wearing clown mask

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Fort Wayne police were called to the Partners 1st Credit Union located at 5020 Riviera Court late Thursday morning after reports of shots fired.

The credit union is located just west of North Clinton Street north of Northcrest shopping center.

According to police at the scene, the credit union was open when a man showed up wearing a clown mask. Employees told police that when the man could not get into a locked door he pulled out a gun and shot the door. The entry door is always locked and employees have to unlock the door to allow customers to enter.

The people inside all took cover and the man ran off.

Both customers and employees who were inside ran out the back door and to the MidWest America Federal Credit Union that is across the street.

One man suffered a possible medical condition during the attempted robbery.  He is being examined at a hospital.

Officers are currently searching the area.
