Graphics Designer, Programmer/Coder
Locally owned and operated, WISH-TV, Indianapolis, is seeking a graphics designer, programmer, and coder to join our innovative graphics department. We are seeking a problem solver and visionary to bring our one-of-kind ideas to life with network quality.
The successful candidate will be responsible for logic and project mapping as well as converting that logic into script, animation, data linking and network trouble shooting.
Programming needed for two real-time animation systems and one command and control system:
- Ross Video Xpression
- Chyron Prime
- Chyron Newsticker
The job tasks include:
- Data linking, receiving and/or fetching
- Decision logic for smooth transitions between animation
- Editing and creating data services
- Trouble shooting failures in communications of systems
The current program languages and formats are:
- Visual Basic
- Perl
- Python
- Javascript
- HTML, CSS
- XML
- JSON
- Visual Logic (Xpression, proprietary)
- LOGIC (Newsticker, proprietary)
- SQL
Required skills:
- Experience with at least 3 programming languages. You will need to learn the languages that are on the list above.
- Basic understanding of networking and network protocols.
Desired skills:
- Animation systems, especially Xpression and Prime
- Web app creation and editing
- Linux programming and use (shell, no GUI)
A knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe After Effects is a plus.
Qualifications:
- A degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of professional experience
- Minimum 3 references

- Complete tasks independently and as a team member
