CASA volunteers are needed to help look out for children in the welfare system
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Court appointed special advocate (CASA) volunteers are currently needed.
Chris Mundy, Director of Volunteer training with CASA, stopped by Indy Style to talk about the opportunity and responsibilities.
“We only have 460 volunteers and we have 3,500 kids, so we need as many volunteers as we can get,” Mundy said.
Volunteer information sessions and volunteer training classes are currently being held virtually.
In order to be a CASA, you must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma. You will spend about six hours each month volunteering.
Upcoming information sessions are scheduled for July 25 at 9:30 a.m. and July 28 at 11:30 a.m.
