‘Gr8 Comeback’: King Dough event to help hurting music venues during pandemic

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — When Adam and Alicia Sweet brought their King Dough restaurant to Indianapolis, the idea was to bring hand-crafted pizza with freshly made ingredients.

Their mission led them to finding a home in the Holy Cross neighborhood.

Alicia says it’s not only their sourdough crust, cooked at more than 800 degrees in their “Thunderdome” oven, that keeps people coming back. It’s an atmosphere of collaborating with the community.

They like to throw events with other businesses in the community. During their “Bella Dole” event Sunday at the pizzeria, King Dough will host the #SaveOurStages event with 8th Day Distillery, a bottle shop and cocktail bar, and Sun King Brewery. The purpose is to assist the Indiana Independent Venue Alliance in helping local music venues, concert promoters and music festivals recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
