‘Gr8 Comeback’: The Silver Centre brings new event experience to Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– No matter what the occasion is, Chesia Torrence says The Silver Centre Event Hall is ready to turn your special event into an unforgettable experience.
“Weddings, conventions, conferences, baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, retirement, anniversaries,” Torrence said as she continued through the list of events.
Like many venues, COVID-19 left her business in a tight spot, but giving up was the furthest thing from her mind. She had an idea.
“A lot of different cities have what we call a ‘selifie museum’ where you walk through and you’re able to take Instagram-worthy photos,” she said. “They’re like the new rave, they’re pretty trendy, but Indy doesn’t have one.”
She decided to turn The Silver Centre into The Selfie Centre as a 30-day pop-up experiment. Guests choose between dozens of backgrounds looking to create some new memories. Torrence said the project got such a good response that even though she’s going back to hosting her main events in The Silver Centre, she wants to keep The Selfie Centre going.
“I’m looking forward to finding it a new home,” she said.
