Next Gen is a transformative home design offering a home within a home. Lennar introduced Next Gen home designs in October 2011 (in Arizona). The concept quickly took hold across the country.
The inspiration for Next Gen started with identifying a need. We identified the need for a physical construct for multiple generations living under one roof.
Many adult children choose to keep their elderly parents close-by, for a variety of reasons. At the same time, we have young adult children in a period of transition needing support.
Next Gen homes provide a completely separate suite with their own entrances – some with their own garages.
Originally conceived as a traditional in-law suite (separate living quarters with living area, bedroom, full bath, kitchenette. Separate entrance for privacy, but still connected to the main home).
The thoughtful design details incorporated into our Next Gen suites help extended family members maintain an important aspect of a happy life – independence in their home with the companionship of loved ones nearby.
