Police dog finds drugs, cash in Eggo box
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An Ohio sheriff’s deputy’s dog found cash and drugs inside a box of frozen waffles.
When Deputy Harger of the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office saw an erratic driver on U.S. Route 23, he pulled over the car with two people inside, one from West Virginia, the other from Columbus, Ohio.
He got suspicious when he “observed criminal indicators,” according to a social media post by Pickaway County Sheriff’s office.
That’s when Joris, Harger’s K9 Partner, did a “free-air narcotics sniff” around the car, and showed his human Partner there was the smell of narcotics inside.
Joris’ K9 training paid off when backup arrived and deputies found suspected crack and suspected cocaine, weighing over three ounces combined, inside an Eggo waffles box — and cash of $1,100.
Both suspects in the traffic stop, Brandi McDaniels and Ein Johnson, were transported to the Pickaway County Jail and are being charged with Trafficking in Drugs and Possession of Drugs, both felonies of the first degree, said the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office in the post.
