1 dead in New Albany officer-involved shooting
NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police say a man is dead after an officer-involved shooting Saturday afternoon.
The shooting happened near I-265 north of Louisville.
Officers were called to check on a 36-year-old man at a home in the area. When officers arrived the man fired shots from the front of the house, initiating an exchange of gunfire.
The man, identified as Benjamin Lucas, was shot and later died at the hospital.
Authorities say the names of the officers involved in the shooting will be released at a later date.
