2 Jennings County police officers hurt in early morning crash

NORTH VERNON, Ind. (WISH) – Two Jennings County Sheriff’s Department police vehicles were damaged and two officers were hurt when they collided on Tuesday morning.

According to police, a trooper was in the area of State Road 750 near O and M Avenue looking for a possible reckless driver, around 4 a.m. While the officer was making a U-Turn another officer pulled into the path of the first officer.

The first officers vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of the second officers car.

One officer was treated at Jennings County St. Vincent Hospital for minor injuries. The second officers was taken to St. Vincent-Indianapolis by medical helicopter and treated for serious injuries. None of the injuries were life threatening.

Police were still investigating the crash on Tuesday.
