INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two men were critically injured in a shooting near Eskenazi Hospital on Friday afternoon, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Just before 2:30 p.m. Friday, IMPD officers responded to a report of a personal injury crash involving near the intersection of West 10th Street and Saint Margaret’s Drive. That is near Eskenazi Hospital in the city’s downtown area. Officers arrived to the scene and found two adult males inside a vehicle with gunshot wound injuries. Both victims were initially reported to be in serious condition.

The victims were taken to Eskenazi Hospital, where they were listed in critical condition.

A firearm was found near the scene of the incident. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

West 10th Street from Eskenazi Avenue to Saint Margaret’s Drive was shut down for a little over 2 hours after the incident.
