5 members of the Unser family race together for the first time

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Five special drivers were behind the wheel of vintage race cars Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

For the first time ever, five members of the Unser family hit the oval at the same time. Al, Bobby, Al Jr., Robby and Johnny all took to the track as part of Brickyard Invitational Week.

“I don’t think there are words enough to tell people how nice it is to come back to something like this,” Bobby Unser said. “I spent my life here. It’s just a touching thing beyond belief for me, and I know it is for the rest of the family too.”

This was the second year for the four-day invitational at the Speedway.

It’s one of the nation’s largest vintage racing festivals.
