Accused cop killer to be transferred to state prison

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Major Davis Jr., the man accused of killing Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Perry Renn in 2014, will be transferred to state prison.

Court documents filed show that the defendant’s motion to be transferred was granted. Davis, Jr. will now be transferred to the Indiana Department of Corrections for “safekeeping,” according to documents.

Davis, Jr.’s trial date is still years away.  WISH-TV.com reported in December that a preliminary date of Feb. 2017 was set for a trial.
