How to make Apple Chips
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Make crispy, crunchy, baked apple chips at home!
These are easy, healthy, one-ingredient and addicting! These chips go perfectly on Mock Fuji Apple Salad with White Balsamic Vinaigrette, which will be made on Friday’s “All Indiana.”
Apple Chips
2 apples, either KORU®, Gala or Rockit
1. Preheat oven to 200º. Thinly slice apples into 1/8 – 1/4 inch slices using a mandolin – or carefully using a very sharp knife.
2. Arrange slices in a single layer on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. Place in the middle to top rack of the oven for 1 hour. Flip apples over and cook another hour. Apples should look dried and curled up on the edges. To test a slice to see if it’s perfectly crispy, remove an apple slice from the oven and let it set for 2-3 minutes. If you are happy with the crispiness, then remove the rest of the apple slices. Also – to get them even crispier, turn off the oven and let apples continue to dry for another 30 – 45 minutes in the oven as it cools down.
3. Transfer the apples to a wired rack until cooled and crispy. Enjoy!
